I am a designer committed to crafting immersive and impactful spaces. My journey began with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Interior Design from Virginia Commonwealth University, where I built a strong foundation in design principles. After graduating in 2017, I spent three years in Austin, focusing on high-end and multi-family residential projects. During this time, I managed new construction and renovations, curated FF&E selections, and refined my skills in creating sophisticated and functional environments.
In 2021, I returned to school to pursue a Master’s in Architecture at the University of Houston. While there, I embraced a hands-on collaborative approach in the Graduate Design/Build Studio, where architecture, fabrication, and community impact seamlessly merged. The studio’s emphasis on sustainable and site-responsive design was exemplified in projects like creating outdoor classrooms for local schools, further solidifying my commitment to socially responsible and environmentally sustainable architecture.
My education was further enriched by the International Education Scholarship, which helped fund my study abroad experience in Japan during the summer of 2023. There, I developed a deep appreciation for intricate detailing and urban landscapes. Additionally, I was honored to be the only graduate student to receive the faculty-nominated Ziegler Cooper Travel Fellowship Award 2023 at the University of Houston, which enabled me to conduct research in Australia and New Zealand during the winter of 2023-24. This research directly influenced my thesis, Living on the Edge, which explores the relationship between architecture and the elements of land, air, and water. The people I've met and the experiences I've gained through travel have profoundly shaped my design approach and philosophy surrounding the built environment.
I believe that design has an important responsibility both socially and to the environment. I seek to create immersive and authentic spaces that improve the user's quality of life with the goal to be constantly evolving. I value being a lifelong student and understand the necessary steps of asking questions and listening thoroughly to ensure that the way we shape the built environment around us is in alignment with the natural world.
